Batch processing runs on your device. Speed depends on image dimensions and available memory.
Adjustable Quality
JPEG and WebP trade some image detail for fewer bytes. Preview each result; PNG size reduction is not guaranteed.
How to use this tool
- Select one or more images. Each file appears in the list with its original size.
- Choose JPEG for opaque photographs, WebP for photos or transparency, or PNG when you need lossless pixel encoding.
- Start around 80% quality for JPEG or WebP, then select Compress All. Open the preview to inspect edges, text and gradients.
- Compare the saved bytes and download the files you want to keep. Keep your original separately.
Settings, examples and limitations
The quality slider changes JPEG and WebP encoding. PNG encoding does not use that setting and can produce a larger file than the source. Converting an already compressed JPEG to PNG usually increases its size.
The optional target uses KB as 1,024 bytes and searches for an encoding quality at or below that limit. Some images cannot meet a small limit at their current dimensions. If the tool reports that problem, reduce the pixel dimensions first and try again. Savings depend on the source; no percentage reduction is guaranteed.
Each export contains one still image. Animation, EXIF metadata and original color profiles are not preserved by this Canvas workflow. Follow the file size workflow for a worked example.
