CUTIMAGE RESOURCES

About CutImage

Small, practical tools for preparing images without sending the selected files to a server.

What the project does

CutImage is a collection of six browser tools for compression, conversion, cropping, resizing, PNG favicon generation and simple SVG tracing. The tools use JavaScript, Canvas and browser image decoders. No account is needed and results do not include a watermark.

The site is maintained through the CutImage project repository. The public project and issue tracker provide a way to inspect changes, report bugs and suggest improvements.

Capabilities and limits

Compression supports batches; conversion, cropping, resizing and tracing work on one source image at a time. The converter exports PNG, JPEG and WebP. Favicons are PNG downloads. Tracing creates a sampled SVG approximation rather than smooth professional logo reconstruction.

Browser image export generally does not retain EXIF metadata, original color profiles, animation or editable layers. Results vary with the image and browser. Keep originals and verify the output before using it in production.

How guides and corrections are handled

Guides describe the controls in this project and use explicit calculations rather than invented benchmark results. We update instructions when the tool behavior changes. If a step fails or a statement is inaccurate, use the contact page and include the tool, browser and steps needed to reproduce the issue.

Files, hosting and funding

Selected image files are processed locally. The website host still receives ordinary page requests, and some tools load interface fonts or a library from third-party services. Read the privacy policy for those distinctions.

CutImage may be supported by advertising. This version has no active ad units; the publisher verification metadata remains available for site review. Advertising, when enabled, must be identifiable and must not be required to download a result.
